This animation provides an overview of the shale gas extraction process, from drilling the well to what happens to the extracted gas. Also explained are some potential impacts of shale gas development and the technique used to increase the rate of gas and water flow, known as hydraulic fracturing (fraccing).
I have to agree with Bruce Holland’s comments. In fact the USA can become a major exporter of gas and oil because of fracking shales. No reports of any health or environmental issues.

There probably also needs to have some follow up graphics / video’s of the risks and how they are overcome – after all over 2.5 million fracks have already been done worldwide, and there is minimal environmental impact despite all the scare mongering.
in fact it can be strongly argued, that if it were not for fracking, the USA would not have decreased their emissions by 20% over the last 10 years.
The main reason their emissions have fallen so much is that cheap gas being produced from fracked wells has replaced coal fired power stations, thus reducing the amount of coal (higher emissions than gas) used for power generation, replacing the coal with natural gas (methane).
This reduction in the USA emissions has continued, despite the USA withdrawing from the Paris Agreement on emissions.
